Model railway auction Sheffield

I'll be there early for the viewing.
I'd quite like a couple of those 5" gauge diesels for the foyer of the new offices.
Handy that I've got some top notch sparkys, welders and paint guys I can call on. :)
Paul.

Lot 8 - didn't know Aristo had dabbled in 5":)

Lot 41A might be worth a punt if you are in need of G Scale Track. Current bid of £85 looks cheep to me though if course it could go much higher.

As the auction isn't till 3/1/19 I think the "current bid" should read "opening bid" Jon ( also a possible guide to a reserve price, unless there are no reserves on the lots ?) . The market will decide what people will pay. The usual tactic of bundling items will play into the buyer's hands, providing you are an adherent to "rule 8" or looking to find a little margin to split and trade on. Interesting all the same. Interesting to see this come up. Interesting to see the prices achieved. Max

It's a mixed lot though. I suppose it depends on what depth on flange people are using. Peco is a lower rail height than LGB and Aristo.

I'm quite surprised how low the expected prices are for the 5" stuff. A 4 ft long class 20 Bo-Bo battery powered diesel for £250? You can pay that for an OO model. Or are these just to entice you in?

A believe in "Bargain Hunt" its a "come and get me" price, so yes Dave once enticed they the auction bug will grab.

don't forget that you will have to add on buyers premium and vat (nearly 25%)
At a local auction recently I bid on an accucraft edrig guided at 300 to 350 quid, it ended up at just shy of 700 all in. I pulled out way before then.

Peco and LGB mix just fine, use both on my line with Peco and Hillman Adapter Fishplates/Track Clamps.
