Really ?? These things go for a few dollars at any home center or hardware store. As a matter of fact, the ones at home centers and hardware stores are made better. I don't know who to blame, the retailer, the distributor or the manufacturer. One of them sees a product that some modelers wouldn't know where else to buy it, so they put a price on it, throw it against the wall and if it doesn't come back, hooray !

I cannot see where the solid gold is incorporated in the tool .....

And they do UK shipping. So with 20% vat and Royal Mail's £8 that'll be ........... £75. A snip ! I'll take 3 (maximises postal savings) Max.

But it is genuine Piko!:giggle:

I looked at the picture again and it does not say Piko. Something is embossed on the frame, but I cannot decipher it.

It's made by Barco Dan, a Swedish tools manufacturer. Good quality kit, but I wouldn't pay $50....

Barco? That's them as makes the metric adjustable spanners.

As 'tis often said, but in actual fact there IS a difference. On Barco (and maybe a few others) the scroll works in the opposite direction to what we are used to.

Just one of those useless facts that fill my head. :nerd:

Whoa ! Hold your wallets ! It's been discounted all the way down to $47.73 !!!!!!!!!!! A savings of $2.51 !!

I didn't know there was an R in the name:)

Yes I should have written Bahco, not Barco.

Another product line that I am familiar with, hence my confusion between the two firms....

One of the early video projectors, three gun jobby, took all day to set one up properly. Worked for us at the time. What we did, you'd do with a big Tele and a usb link now. About £6500 at the time and that was a year's salary.
