It's Christmas Eve and everyone is getting ready for the Christmas Fayre until the Topham Hall Christmas Tree disappears. Thomas tries to come to the rescue but Santa finally arrives and sorts everything out.

Excellent video again and the end scene is the, literally, finishing touch, It's great (and to me inexplicable) the way the vehicles (other than Thomas, of course) move, some very clever work with hands and strings off scene.

Hi John, Many thanks for the post and glad you enjoyed our little Christmas Special. We had great fun making it. The final scene was filmed on the dining room table with the lights off. The picture of Thomas pulling Santa was done in Apple's Final Cut Pro X editing software where you can shrink a video frame and make it move across the screen. All good fun and it made us laugh a lot. Have a great Christmas and hope you visit us again soon.

Hi Gordon, Thanks for the post and glad you liked our Christmas Special. None of the Playmobil toys have any motors so we move them with a rod attached to the back of the tractor and fire engine. It's really easy if you keep the rod out of the shot. Sometimes a 'big hand' is used and then cropped out of the final video. The final scene was filmed on the dining room table with the lights off. Hi Mick, Thanks so much for your great comment. It was great fun to make and we laughed all the time! Our Grandchildren just love our Thomas videos, especially when their Playmobil toys come to life! It's all done with long poles, big hands and sometimes fishing line and of course Apple's Final Cut Pro X editing software! Have a great Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!

Another great production from the Pine Tree Studios. I like the way you've edited the cuts to coincide with the music. Something I've been trying to do for ages but never quite succeeded. Is it easier with Final Cut Pro?

Hi Rik, Many thanks for your great comment and so glad you enjoyed our latest video. We have such fun making these little videos so it's brilliant when folks say they like watching. We started making these little videos about five years ago and for ages just used iMovie. We then moved over to Final Cut Pro X which is also fantastic to use. We do cut the video to the beat of the music which helps to give it pace and move things along. FCPX allows you to find every frame so it's really easy to cut the shot to the exact beat in the music. It does take a little longer but there you go - it's all part of the fun! Have a great Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!

Thanks for the reply. Our Grandson's Playmobil toys are just brilliant for making our garden railway videos. He just loves to see them moving and then immediately recreates the stories - he especially likes the little dog who keeps getting into trouble.
