I wonder what today's kids would make of it

One of the things that we forget, is that constructional toys like this also helped us to read. Diagramatic instructions were expensive to reproduce, so a lot of the instruction was written. How else would I have known what a trunion was when aged 6 or so

Bayko had a shorthand system, with the poles being numbered by the height of the brick modules, and a 2-storey house being 5 modules high, the ground floor being 3 and the upper 2. So BWH was Brick, Window, Half on the ground floor
