I have an unused Massoth dimax 4 channel Switch Decoder II which was programmed by Glendale (obviously now some time ago). Its remainrd unused since it was programmed. When I now supply power to the module a short is created. If I disconnect it from the power everything is fine. Am I missing anything. Dopes anyone know what could be going wrong. Should I have it checked out and if so where. Any thoughts and ideas would be very helpful please. DCC layout LGB station and transformer, Massoth aerial and controller.
Many thanks Clive

A picture painting a thousand words..

How, and where are you connecting this unit?
Have you twisted up the ends of the cables, and tinned them? - No stray 'whiskers'.
Is this decoder connected to any point-motors yet?

Ok so I have solved my own problem - I read instructions found on line. These usually are gobbledegook to me what with CV addresses etc but I saw in a diagram that the power should be input to the last two terminals. I had been wiring one terminal to the +ve sign thinking this was the positive input - but No. All now operates. Thank you if you even thought about this. I am now a happy lockdowned bunny.

Glad you found the route of the problem.. You are on the right path now.. :D
