Making a phone box

I wanted an old style red telephone box, but it seemed a lot of work to cut out all those windows.
I drew up the 4 sides using Word Draw, like this?.

and had it printed at my local print shop, onto adhesive plastic sheet.
Then I made a clear perspex 'box' to fit the print, and carved a roof from balsa.
Then stuck the prints onto the perspex. The colours are a bit 'weak', but not bad.
Here's the result:

It doesn?t stay outside in the weather, but the red colour hasn't faded in 3 years.

Shouldn't half the windows be smashed, graffiti daubed and the smell of a urinal be fitted? Then it would be just like the ones I remember in Etwall.

I used to work at the printers in Derby that did most of the tickets for the Derby Assembly Rooms (not as grand as 'ammersmiff, but still) and so sometimes a couple too many would be printed and numbered .
Tangerine Dream, The Stranglers, Slade etc.
Then I had a couple of tickets to the sold-out Eurythmics concert but had to give them to a mate as I started the new job here the week before. :crying:
1983. Sigh. Back when Dixi mobile toilets looked just like 'phone boxes (or at least smelt that way).
