Made a quick visit to Toy Fair at Olympia Kensington after work today.

From model train perspective, following stalls caught my eyes.

The gauge seemed same as 45 mm. I measured using my mobile so could be inaccurate. The stall members could not tell me the gauge!

The next one was Oxford Rail. A new company selling Hornby like OO gauge trains. The sample models looked replica Hornby.

While not train, but another startup ArcKit also seemed promising. Their buildings were not G scale though - more like O scale. These were somewhat Lego like.

PS: It is a trade fair. But if you preregister online entry is free. It will be there next 2 days as well. So if you live nearby/work in London worth a visit.

Used to visit this every year when it was in Olympia or Earls Court. Eventually I found it to be irrelevant as most of the Model Railway Manufacturers tend to make their annual range announcements at Big Shows, Internet or via Mags. However it was interesting to see the other Toys that would not normally be regarded as mainstream Model Railway, this could sometimes include some interesting Battery Trains in our scale. Plus the Stands generally used to have an interesting line in lady Promotional Staff!

Just for interest, I've made up one of the ugear working trams. Very nice kit, well made and thought out. Not overly realistic but a different addition to a collector's fleet.
