Well, having been let down by one nameless company who, when I called admitted that they'd lost my order place earlier this year, I'm now left looking for another supplier for names and number plates for my next loco, the Accucraft Aussie diesel.

As it bears a vague resemblement to the 400 bhp Kambarka-built bo-bo on the Brecon Mountain Railway down there in De Cymru, that's what it's going to be. All I need are the Cyrillic lettered number plates for the cab, and the nameplates for the hood.

It is going to be named 'MIKI ENDO', after the heroine local radio broadcaster who stuck to her emergency mike during the Japan tsunami, warning people to flee the disaster until her studio was swept away, with her in it. Forty people were on the roof during the tsunami - eleven survived. 'Greater love...' and all that.

Recommendations, anybody?

For all on my locos, I have used Light Railway Stores. They have a wide variety of styles and fonts, or I believe that could custom make to your artwork. They are not particularly quick, as they manufacture in batches, but the quality is excellent and they have the merit of being very competitively priced. I have no hesitation on recommending them.

I use Peter Wood (of Doncaster) for my plates all of which are bespoke. He’s recently made the set of name number and works plates for my Mersey Railway 0-6-4T built around a Bachmann Devious Diesel chassis.C92F0E5E-5C0D-4261-B223-E9664F44159C.jpegD88A7DC4-213A-4DFF-A172-FF76F792785F.jpeg

If you just want some small vinyl decals in outdoor grade solvent let me know (PM), similar to what I have done with my coachs here.
I'm really impressed with the job you've accomplished on the cars! Especially the shade of blue. I'm very partial to blue things - i have around ten blue-dial watches! Can you replicate the cab letters and numbers? Remember that the letter that looks like a Y is a Cyrillic 'oo'. 9mm high - white. I'll pay. :)

I have very much a Blue and cream direction in my collection !, МИКИ ЕНДО , most fonts will have an option to be created in Cyrillic, you just need to bring this up as a virtual keyboard on a PC. will send you a pm.

Хороший. Спасибо. However, Miko Endo is NOT in Russian, thanks. That is her Japanese name in English. Just the loco designation is in Cyrillic. I'll be making the 'backing' from Plasticard and L-angle Evergreen sections.

Even though I'm " downunder" at the other end of the world your images appear to be upside down - or is it just where I am logging in from? :)
Well, they did export 4 of the ex Mersey railway locos to New South Wales including number 7!!
There's an ongoing problem with orientation of photos at the moment, not sure why or if it has something to do with photos taken with mobile phones?

Me too. My nameplates need two sizes of font and some underlining, which proved no problem to them, so I would imagine cyrillic would be a doddle for them.
