Loco Miniature Railway ReVisited Apr 2013

Over the 2012/2013 New Zealand summer Loco Miniature Railways and Gardens has been a regular haunt of the Wellington Garden Railway Group. It's just the way this summer panned out that we visited and ran trains here 3 times, next summer unlikely to be here as often, though the fantastic venue and their wood fired pizzas are very tempting

This topic covers our visit last Sunday (14th April).

So lets start the photo coverage with some pictures taken by Brian Russell following his Corpet around. (Nice to have some pictures from WGRG other than from my camera.)

Now onto my photos.
Sitting in the main yard at Loco, my two live steamers, Kaitaki (the Leader) and Manawanui awaiting light up plus the Dubs A for when battery power was wanted.

This is the sort of few the paying visitors, umm, paid to see. Trains in action in an idilic setting.

Tablets definitely needed, it got quite busy at times.

You think I'm kidding don't you, but what's that on the ground along side Wayne's Piko Taurus "Porsche"?

Yes it a proper tablet for the section Manawatu to Te Horo!

And here are the lads at "Otaki" for the next train in and exchange of the tablet. Boys having fun!

Meanwhile on the mainline we just tried to stay out of each others way!

And I took lots of photos of Chris's FA3. (As did Brian - it's a popular train!)

Across the lake, there is lots at Loco to keep the train boys happy...

And lots to keep the kids amused too.

All up a great day, in warm sunshine as you can tell. We look forward to visiting again next summer

Please you all like the pictures and yes I have to agree with you Shawn, would have like some of Manawanui and the Leader in action but with members of the public around driving the steamies and photography was a bridge to far. And Brian R had gone by then and no one else from the WGRG took any photos, well not that I've seen :crying: Guess I'll just have to go back again
