Looking to purchase a new to me loco for my railway, have a budget of £550 - £650 does anyone have a loco they wish to sell? Condition not too important as long as it works.

Many thanks

Rob

Rob, I have an Accucraft Ruby - built from the kit by the previous owner. Never been used to my knowledge and I've only had it as a shelf-queen for the last couple of years. No box, instructions or certificates I'm afraid. Don't even know if the timing's been set up. Regrettably the chap I got it from is now deceased so can't ask any questions. It's not r/c but presume could be done without too much difficulty. Would this be of any interest to you? Will post photos and price in the sales section if required.

You can buy a new 0-4-0 from Accucraft, Regner or a Roundhouse basic loco for that money.

You might be lucky there, there seems very little that isn't on long back order.

The dealers will have cleared out all the stock to take to the 16mm show at the end of this month. If you like the US look Accucraft US have some good deals on their basic locos at the moment and available from stock.

Thankyou very much for your offer, I do appreciate it, but I already have a Ruby, which over the course of time has been modified and improved.

I would strongly suggest that you go along to the 16mm NGM soc's annual show at Peterbourough on the 27th April, if it is convenient for you. All the main "live steam" traders will be there with their stock and there will be plenty of good advise on hand from operators on the layouts if you need it, although I have noted that you are already a "live steamer" yourself. There may be some items in the memeber to member sales area too.

There are some traders and service agents who post on this site who I am sure will make themselves known when they see your request. There should be plenty out there around your price range that will have been properly tested and set up as well as having their provenance checked.
