I'm wondering if anyone has a LGB U-series 0-6-2 that they don't want anymore? I've found one new but it's a bit of a stretch beyond my budget. Thanks! PM's please!

Theirs a new one one Dragons web site, bit steep though, but as they are one of LGB's longest produced engines the are always popping up on evilbay in varoius colours and diguises, just keep a look out and be pactent, one will come along soon.

Nice one Nemo.

I understand your point James, but a fair amount of my collection came from ebay - All I can say is dont pay too much (as Nemo said - wait) and if its not what you want when you get it, bung it straight back on ebay - if you loose few quid - so be-it, dont worry.

steve at back 2 by 6 has a mint u43 in grey,,, looks new,, just over 200 i think
which isnt too bad for a minter,,,

Just be patient, like Alan must of my LGB stock came off ebay and as this brand is generally robust then most is good to use. Here's mine, now almost 7 years old I bought it for myself for me 40th birthday, brand new.........

Why do you see so many of these on eBay (like this one) with the combination rods and union links of the Walshaerts valvegear misplaced ?

Put back together the wrong way, bought at least one loco like this myself.

These come up very regularly, do not spend much. The later ones run great but have valve gear problems as Steve points out. Honestly, I think it is a hit/bind problem. The valve gear hangs low down and anything on the right of way.

The U is one of my favorite Lehmann locos.

Its also a handling problem, if you just pick it up under the wheels you trap the valve gear.

Saw this in the flesh so to speak, when it wen't on e-b last sunday

It is from a collection that is being sold by friends on behalf of the late
owners widow

By all accounts the chap liked taking kit apart and building one offs/odd balls etc

He may well have had this apart and put it back together wrong, quite a
bit of the kit for sale seems to have been modified/enhanced ??
