Lgb Track Cleaner Spares

Hello
My track cleaner is playing up and I think it needs new wheel brushes and pick-up sliders. Can any one recommend a source for spares?
Bill

While you are in there I would suggest changing the cleaning wheels, they wear out faster than you think, are a doddle to swap and cost tuppence h'apenny. Actually all the problems I had with my track cleaning loco were caused by the cleaning wheels :swear:

I agree with Pugs - change the cleaning wheels.

Before spending much money..

Give things a good clean.. Clean the skates, and backs of wheels where pickups rub.
Drop the cleaning motor block (Haynes manual - "With finger and thumb, remove engine.."). Undo the screws, remove the cleaning wheels, and get rid of all the plastic 'string' round the axles.
Re-assemble, and test.. It may well be all that is wrong.

Are you sure that things are worn out? Mine became very reluctant to work recently, so was given an "Italian tune up", i.e. run at high speed around the track until all is well again. If you only use the machine occasionally and, because you machine operates on dirty track, it can become fouled up. In addition the dust created from the cleaning process may get into the motor and maybe cause the commutator to become inefficient.
