LGB Schoema...

Hi guys - this isn't an urgent aquisition, but I'm looking for a LGB Schoema 0-4-0 diesel for modifications to represent the EJ&KLR in modern image mode...

Therefore I'm after one that is in good condition, with any damage limited to paintwork.
I'm keeping my eyes peeled on Ebay (and German Ebay) - and missed a white/green one last week that went for a price within my budget (up to £100).

PM me if you can help - and rest assured your engine will be coming to a good home :)

James if you don't find one locally I have a ratty bodied one thats a good runner you can have for $45 + shipping......................Paul............

Last one as you can see it's very ratty! but has a good motor block and chassis. postage would be about $40.00 to the UK priority mail but cheaper via parcel post....................Paul...........

Sorry Paul but I do need the body in good condition as a base for a full detail and repaint - I don't mind 'tatty' but yours has had quite some cab damage! Thanks for the kind offer :)

Still looking (at present) so if anyone can help let me know. Happy to pay a bit more for a more recent low mileage example!

I'm planning on an orangey red finish with dark grey roof, black underframe, red axle boxes and this logo...

There are a couple I'm watching on eBay, but I'd prefer to line the pockets of someone on here, so let me know if you can help. Price limit revised, looking for a later version with reasonable mileage.

Thanks Mike and Tim.

I'd spotted Grootspoor's one, but ideally I'd source one in the UK. The other one seems quite pricey for a used 90s example, but thanks Mike, I'd not thought to look at that shop before.

You mean the one for £79.99 buy it now? It looks pretty tired and the price is rather high for a basic starter set engine with that sort of wear and tear. There are a few on German eBay I'm keeping my eyes on but still haven't got one yet :)

Shame you weren't looking for one a few months back, James, when I sold a decent little starter-set orange one to another forum member for 35 quid.... I'd originally paid about the same for it when I bought it through eBay, so good priced ones do come up now and then.

Jon.

My word that's a lot of money. I've found brand new in box ones on German E-bay for about £180 delivered. I am tempted, but there isn't a great deal of point getting a brand new one really as I'll be repainting and detailing it...

Sounds like the moral of the story is keep your eyes peeled, thanks Jon :)

Seriously - WHERE does this guy get his pricing from...??????? 8|

Jon.
Same place as all his other prices. Any bets on how many times this will go around before he finds a buyer.

The weird thing is, Mike, there doesn't seem to be a pattern to his (over)pricing - right next to the ludicrously-priced Schoema, he has a factory-MTS V51/V52 at a BIN price of only a few quid more, which (while far from cheap) is only around the high side of average for that loco.

Either he's a real chancer trying for a huge markup, or he's paying way too much for some of the things he's buying in.....

Jon.
