Wanted please. I'm after a block (normally in two halves screwed together) that attaches to any LGB motor block. The one I'm after is for the chimney end of a Stainz with the hole through it for the chimney to pass through. Any help gratefully received. Thanks, Tony.

Could do with a photo please?

I think you are referring to a D series block for an old growler Stainz, possibly the piston block?

I've taken a photo of mine so you can identify the part you are looking for....

A bit of thread drift so please excuse me. Those "Clamshell" motor blocks are one PITA to service. Consequently, my one and only locomotive and powered tender that has this type of block was only serviced once.....

I think the OP wants the block that fits on the end of the motor-block? - Out at the moment, but can have a look later..

Phil,

Yep - exactly that. It's the clip-on bit to the motor block. The chimney end one has the hole in it for the chimney to pke through. It has sort of dovetail wedge moulded on the top and two clips lower I think. Brute force needed to separate it from the motor block. Tony.

I have attached a parts list, please can you identify the part number you want.

I have this:

Unfortunately, that is from the back-end of the block. - The hole does not go all the way through..

I think I have one of those. I'll double check. If I have it, you are welcomed to it.

I think everyone who owns an LGB train must also have a half disassembled Stainz logo in a box next to their work bench somewhere ! We could collectively get together a model that scrap yard in Barry Island !
