LGB Feldchen loco - front coupling

I think I probably know the answer to this one, but there's always someone out there better informed. Is it possible (and, obviously, if so, how) to fit a Bachmann or Aristo coupling to the front of a Feldchen? Rear is no problem but I don't like the massive bar on the front, even without the hook. Only thing that comes to mind is a chain link type which looks in keeping but don't want to retrofit my rake of mini wagons.

I'd make up a new plate to replace the coupling like the rough sketch below and fix the coupling of choice to that with a bolt. You can use the existing locating holes and the screw.
Make the new bracket from two plasticard plates and a couple of plastic rod pins or even bolts of the right size and leave the heads exposed as detail
