LGB crocodile number plates

Hello all,

I have a pair of LGB crocodiles in the brown livery. My problem is that they both carry the same number 413.
I would like to renumber one of the locos, does anyone know where I can get hold of a loco set of alternative LGB number plates? (Anything other than 413!)

I have faith that someone will know the way!

Thanks in advance

Dave

You could have some made. I've been pleased with work from Narrow Planet - Narrow Planet

Thanks for the reply, I had considered that but I would like them to match the original LGB "styling" if possible.

Hi Dave. My German is not very good but this looks similar to what you are looking for. He has loads of other etched signs and number, but I don't know if he ships to the UK. If not perhaps we have a forumites in Germany who can order them on your behalf.

I haven't checked but you may actually be able to get them from Märklin/LGB parts if you can figure out the part numbers. They did release models with 412 (Blue Alpine Express/LGB/Bemo Crok) and I believe 409 in a recent brown release. Don't know for sure, but the green and red ones released many moons ago may have had different numbers too. Maybe an email request to Modell-Land.de would yield positive results.

Without doubt those etched plates would lift the curb appeal on any crock, wonder if they could be made by a U.K. etcher?

Looked on the Marklin/LGB website - their exploded diagrams do not seem to show the individual number plates? They also do not appear to list them in the price listing, although I may be looking at it wrong?

Model land do list them but they all tend to be the ubiquitous number 413!

Those etched plates do look nice. The MDC one in particular. Maybe another possibility is to get a set of the 413 numbered parts, sand them flat and glue on the etched plates. Or have blank parts 3d printed to which the etched plates could be glued.
