LGB 7 Plank Open and/or verandaless vans

I've rediscovered a cheque I thought I'd lost, sooo I thought I'd treat myself.

I'm after a couple of the LGB 7 plank open wagons, like these:

Condition not particuarly important, as I don't mind refitting vac pipes and the like- so long as it's not a total wreck. Same goes for livery as I'll be repainting them anyway. In fact I'd rather have tatty ones than mint boxed, seems a waste- especially if they are cheaper

Wouldn't mind a couple of these vans either...

Same applies- not after any rare liveries or owt like that, it'd just be a waste!

Just to be fussy- I don't want a veranda/ brakeman's platform (on either) as they are to run with my Accucraft steam loco.
Cheers,

Matt

[Matt,
I'm clearing out stock to re-stock with expensive Rhb replacements and have these two on the market now if you want them. They won't have metal wheels I'm afraid but will have the original LGB spokeys. One has a buffer missing. If I could get about the twentyish mark each and a bit of postage PM me and not offended if not right.

Yes please! I'll more than happily take them both. Plastic wheelsets not a problem in the slightest as I only run steam so dirty track isn't an issue! They will spend most their time with 32mm wheelsets in anyway as that's what most the lines down here are.

I'll PM you with my details and we can sort out postage :)

Wouldn't mind a rake of 4 or 5, so still looking for a couple more by the way folks!

Thanks for the links by the way Alan... that one is a smidge steep though, and a bit too "mint in box" for my purposes.

I have a couple of the low sided ones with the platform- unfortunately the wheelbase is offset to one end and if you just lop the platform off it looks a bit odd. I cut straight through mine one panel from the platform end of the body and was going to join the two bits together to make one long wheelbase open wagon, which was about the point I remembered that LGB plastic is probably the hardest thing in the world to glue together...

I have a couple of starter set coach chassis that I will scratchbuild some steel bodied mineral wagons onto eventually, a bit like these HLW chassis'd ones I did a while back, only bigger!

Matt LGB plastic is very easy to join if you get the right welding solvent.

If you want to make your own bodies I have got several old LGB chassis with broked buffers and some 1970s molded-on coupler bogies that will fit. Since I expect you will be fitting 16mm centre buffer couplers and cutting off the LGB ones they would probably be ideal for you.

Matt - I have a spare very early (yellow box era) one in green, if that's any use to you? I'd let it go for the same sort of money as the ones you're buying from Bazzer, drop me a PM if you're interested.

Jon.

Jon- PM sent, thankyou.

Steve, I'll have a think and let you know- they sound ideal, but the coach chassis have been sat in my bits box for several years now- I might try and get something built onto those before adding anything else to the projects pile!

I know the feeling that is why I've been disposing of some of my parts recently.

Hence the reason I'm after some RTR stock(ish), so I actually have something that I can use!

Derek's arrived- delivered to my door, or at least the boot of the Marina at that- today, dead happy with them. Thanks very much mate :)

I suspect Jon's also arrived as I have a red slip from RM through the door- I've yet to brave the traffic to get over to the sorting office to collect it though! Tomorrow morning's job.

Thanks very much Gents

Wouldn't mind another couple though folks...
