LGB 55081 Reverse Loop issues

Hi all,

Have recently purchased an LGB 55081, but can't seem to get it to work correctly...

I've connected it up in sensor track mode, as per the diagram. Have it set up in the living room for testing with an R1 circle, point and short piece on straight after the point which is connected to the central station. When pushing a metal wheeled wagon round, I hear the unit click once as the wheel bridges the sensor rail. When I try a loco, (several different ones tried), the central station shorts out when the loco has its wheels each side of the sensor track. I've tried it with the header plug connected and disconnected(does it work the opposite way round from the Massoth unit or do the instructions have a typo?).
I've not tried it with diodes yet, but reading the various posts on here, nobody seemed to report needing them. Can the units go faulty? It was purchased second hand, but working.

Try swapping the sensor wires for the entry where the loco causes a short?

If that does not work put them back and try swapping feed wires from the module to the loop.

Is this DCC and if so what command station are you using.
I think the LGB 55081 is basically a rebadged Massoth 8157001

I could not get this to work with my Lenz command station despite trying every combination of wiring and with/without diodes. I checked what I was doing with Massoth and they said it was okay. I have sent it back to them and they say it works but they only test it with Massoth command station.

Re post one, with reference to a central station assumption is you're using DCC...

Have you tried this simple setup, to determine that the LGB 55081 is working correctly?
