“problem with my LGB 55015p remote. When I push the F button to turn it on, the screen display lights up, but when I release the F button the display goes out. If I happen to get lucky and the display stays on, the display freezes and I can't do anything, including turning it off. Any ideas greatly appreciated”

I have just received the above message from a friend living in Spain.
My immediate reaction is that assuming his batteries are OK then the board has failed (or could it be the plug-in module?). I had a similar problem some time ago.

Any ideas please of the best place to source a new board either here or abroad

As you mention batteries do we assume he's using it in r/c mode? I only use it with the bus cable and don't put any batteries in. I've also got another hand-held unit that has a non-functioning screen which I got from another forumite but it still works if you key the right sequence of numbers in.

Yes it was in r/c mode. He tried using the bus cable then went back to r/c and it worked. He even got a bell sound which he had not heard previously but I suspect that something may need reprogramming

The LGB 55015 and 55016 can be programmed for the leds to be always on , or have a short on time. This is to save on battery time.

I didn’t know that!
So, that is probably why the ones on my own handsets switch off after too short a time. Drives me mad. :-(
