Well…pics speak for themselves.
Metal wheels, metal handrails along the seating area. Bright, to say the least, graphics and livery. Gates swing open, body has underside detail. Flooring is painted a contrasting color. Tracks like all the other ‘long’ coaches of this marklin/lgb type. Trucks have good details as well. I like it.
I went for this Coke version of the observation car as compared to the green versions that have seats only because the bar section, with its faucet and sink and counter area provides, interest and, greater detail, as well as the opportunity to add a few detail items, such as glasses , beer crates, and bottles.etc.
The car is also ideal for displaying figures and adding interest. I normally loath Coke and some other brand name advertising promo type products. However, in my meager defense, this was offered at a full hundred dollars less than the green observation version with full seating. The German version that advertised a German beer with the bar section has been out of production for some time. My pics dont reveal them, but there are ‘stubs’ at the corners of the bar where lights would fit. While im unsure if these are hole plugs are simply molded into to bar top, ill get the exact position.
That version also has miniature “street lamps” on the corners of the bar. I have ordered some that I hope are suitable, and if so, will install them for added interest and lighting effect.
I will say that the car, at the end of a five or six coach soeg/sachsen consist adds a certain interest beyond the typical dull, green and brown. I am enjoying this car a great deal the savings I had will more than be lost at populating it with detailed preiser figures.
The pictures show mostly LGB figures suitable for a dining car. I recently bought a few sets of these off flea Bay, because I’ve gone on a bit of a pub car binge. I bought not only the Rh B ‘steam pub’(which has a very nice interior and large windows), but also the Fichtelburg bistro car(it to has a small kitchen/bar, as well as tables with molded light ‘stems’, which I am planning on lighting as well.) thank goodness for the concept of a rail museum, to justify the dogs dinner of mis matched stuff.lol.
