Made this about 6 months ago, using two peg baskets held together by tension. Glazing was laminate pouches cooked once. Put on hold as I waiting for Magnolia seed cases to mature - cover in Polyethylene Glycol till they are fossilised - make good Pineapple palms...

The finial was made from: bit of umbrella rod, drilled for eventual weather-vane, a couple of copper washers, and a polystyrene bead (kind used to fill cushions etc).
Cost? $4. Weight? 4 ounces. And I NDT`d it by throwing it across the room..and it survived (good test for models, teases out any dodgy bits) .
