Keep Alive system

Hello everybody,

I would make a keep alive system for my locos but I’m not expert in electronics matters. I’ve found many schemes related to the H0 scale but I’m not sure about components values.
Could someone help me to understand components values in terms of capacity (F) and power value (V).
Thanks

There's an article in the Massoth Wiki that shows you how to make a stay-alive for g-scale locos. I'll see if I can find it.
EDIT: sorry looks like the Massoth Wiki no longer exists as of July this year.

Check out Peckforton Light Railway

He describes a simple power buffer for a LGB decoder. Basically a diode, resister a couple fo large electrolytic capacitors. I've used something similar on a couple of Stainz and a tram with good results. I use to have them stall on R3 points. The diagram shown, I think uses super capacitors given the presence of a zener to prevent over voltage. Super capacitors are expensive - that is why the Massoth power buffers are not cheap!
