Does anyone have any experience of this wagon as a kit please? Just wondering how well it goes together and is it a bit over scale compared to Accucraft rolling stock? Thanks.

Yes I've built three all together. It goes together pretty well, you shouldn't have any problems if you've made similar kits before. I made a couple of modifications including making a small piece of bodywork at the ends under the roof (it didn't look right to me having the roof just resting on the uprights) and throwing away the IP running gear (I hate their wheels personaly) and replacing it with Accucraft wheels and axle boxes. I did this by buying Accucraft flat wagons and robbing them, not only of their running gear and couplings, but also brake handles, safety chains etc.

They look OK with Accucraft stock (at least the W&L items - see breakvan in photo) both being to 16mm - 1/19th scale. The good thing is that the cattle wagons have metal roofs, obviously the bodywork doesn't have the same sort of strength as a normal van to support the roof.

Schleich cattle make a good load.

Is that a Red Corpet that I spy pulling those W+L Cattle Trucks. lucky old W+L, they have been a bit short on motive power of late. Nice job.

Personally I also use the Schleich Cattle in my 15mm T+D Cattle Trucks. I do find them a bit large though. Probably not so bad if used in 16mm scale.

Don't forget - put the cattle in before you glue the roof in place..........!:timeout: I am not the only one to fail to do that.:)
They make nice models although I had to do some sanding of the side planking which was longer than the floor.

I take the point about the extra planking under the ends of the roof without it it looks wrong.
