Insulating rail joiners required

After my fun of getting my reversing loop up and working I'm now in need of 2 insulating rail joiners. Any make or type will do, as long as it'll hold the tracks tight and straight and insulated. I know there's some on ebay, but I'd rather try here first.

One thing to note, Tim - the LGB yellow plastic insulators will most definitely NOT hold the tracks tight - in fact they are a notoriously loose fit on the rails. What I'd recommend is a couple of the Massoth insulated rail clamps, which are black plastic mouldings that are securely screwed to both rails with a thin insulating tab between the rail ends. I think that most other railclamp manufacturers also do an insulating clamp of some sort, but the Massoth ones are the only type I've used myself.
If you do end up using the LGB ones, you'll have to use something to keep the rails tightly joined - something like a cable tie round the sleepers will do the job.

Or if using LGB track, you can use the 'dogbone' track clips LGB 11500 to hold the track pieces together....

I've got a couple of packs of the track clips that I've kept for these 'just in case' moments, plus the track is also screwed to wood deck planks too. I usually use the split jaw rail clamps, but they're becoming harder to come by these days. I bought a few packs of the insulated split jaws a while ago, many more than what I required at the time thinking that I'll have loads spare. Then I promptly ran out :impatient:

Tim if you use the LGB (yellow) insulated track joiners, put some
Blue Tack in the joiner before you insert the rail.

Works like a charm gives a stiff tight joint, not affected by the weather
and will pull apart when needed and any surplus that sqiges out can be
scraped off.
Best of all its cheaper than chips
I also add the dog bone as well just as back up.
