Hi it's been a long time that I have needed help from you lot but I have had a problem with my RX65-2 & TX 22. I have not got a good signel I get just a short way around the track & I lose signel, it stops until I restart is all over again. why do it keep losing the signel, I have bound it on to 4 setting but the same keeps happen, I have good batterys in the TX & RX .

Hmm - if it's bound, the principle behind all of the 2.4GHz stuff is that it will 'carry' a lost signal. That is why all of the 2.4GHz ESCs give you cruise control, so you can turn the Tx off once your train is running at the desired speed.

Are you using it on live steam, where you need to keep a constant signal?
 
I assume that this is Fosworks kit. Suggest that you have a word with them, in my experience range is not an issue. Other thing is it in a Metal or Plastic Loco? Metal bodies can be an issue as can having the reciever close to the speed controller in the model.

If the loco stops after a short distance, and you have to reset everything, it is most-likely that Low Voltage Cutoff is set to 'on' and your batteries are marginally over one of the thresholds. The loco runs, and the voltage drops below this threshold, the loco will stop, and the frone-LED / LED on the receiver will flash 5-times, pause, and repeat.

What type of batteries (NiMH or Lithium) and how many cells are in the pack?

There IS a faint chance the Rx65c is set to 'fail-safe' (loco stops if out of radio contact) but I doubt this is so..

Oops sorry Phil, after my recent dally with Deltang I should have realised that. From my limited experience the Deltang is somewhat range poor in relation to Fosworks.
 
Are Phil you are the man. I was using a 7 cell NiMH well charged, I have now put in a 6 cell NiMH & all is working well, do that make sense to you, if so why, but in any case it is now working all OK, Thanks.

I would guess 7-cells are just over one of the thresholds for LVC (see above post).. Six, is probably at the top-end of the next band, so you have more headroom before you hit the next limit..

Erm Phil can you explain a little more about this please? Will be changing my Deltang from 7.2 Lipo to NiMh 12 cells soon.

No, please don't, Jon..

The limits are 3-13V. Maximum.. - A fully-charged NiMH can give 1.5V. so 3-8 NiMH cells, please.
If you want to exceed that, you need an 'enhanced' receiver, or to use a separate ESC.
