Took a day trip to Norfolk on Saturday, mild sunny and a very pleasant day, wandered into the model shop on the High Street and G SCALE,very limited amount granted but a retailer with G,picked up a couple of Chinese gondolas(another bash on the list) for just over 40 quid, some Piko,Peco, and Train, maybe if he hasn`t got, maybe able to order,?:):):)just thought I would mention.

Know it well. How did you find Mr Gooch, the proprietor?

Or sometimes known as Mr Grumpy. Okay once you get to know him though.

He can order stuff from Gaugemaster, but he has to be prompted every now and then.

I also find the local Newsagent just down the High Street, Witleys, has a good selection of railway magazines. I often get my Continental Modeller from there; a lot of model shops stock the Railway Modeller, but don't have any demand for CM....

I usually look in there when we are at Hunstanton - my sister-in-law and her husband have a static home there and Diane and I pay the site rent each year and can then stay whenever we want to pretty well. On one occasion bought a Peco buffer kit which I have still to build, but I've never noticed the Piko and Train stuff in before. We are down there at the beginning of March, so I'll look in again. (Great place Hunstanton, as, indeed, is all the North Norfolk coast. We were going to move there at one time but the place we are in now set the standard and the lady wife also wanted to stay near friends. However, we may move again sometime.)

I`ve been in quite a few times and always found him Ok,I used to use the old model shop which is now the camping place, they used to keep G,wife offered to buy me a Bachmann starter set but I turned her down, didn`t want the Tweetsie,D&RGW ,now that would have been a different story,:D:D,I must have a look in the newsagents next time there, should be doing some caravaning soon...thanks for the tip;);)

I relieved the honourable gentleman of an Aristo #6 point that he didn't know he had - Gizzy had pointed it out some time ago ('scuse the pun).

But yes, Train & some Piko - wrong scale for me, although they could offer bash fodder for fattening up to 1:20.3 if or when I'm in the mood.

NWN - good place to visit - should've given us a call as I was running a train on Saturday afternoon :nod:

Coming up this Friday, but heading home Saturday.... :(

He has some Piko G scale track and stock, some Aristo stuff (hidden above the steps to the second part of the shop),and some Chinese NQD/Train wagons. I've also some Turkish made buffer stops (Prellbose?) there.

I brought some PIKO track from him once, so I could compare it with LGB, and some of the last LGB steel wheels he had. I've also brought the odd bit of Kato N scale track, as well as paints and adhesives.

There isn't a model shop (of any sorts) in Cambridge, so I guess he is now the one I most frequent, given that we are often up in Heacham....
