I now own a LGB 20232. 02-4-0, I have now converted it to battery RC, It has lights, smoke & sound. How do the LGB sound trigger magnet work. Do I need one & will it fit to my plastic rails & work.
Do you have reed switches mounted under your loco?
The LGB track magnet housing has a magnet in one side (the side under the 'LGB' logo). This means you can mount two reed switches under your loco, one either side. As the reed switch passes over the magnet, it closes the reed switch contact, triggering the sound. Convention states the left-side will trigger the whistle/horn, and the right-side the bell, but you do not have to stick to this convention.
Yes. The reed switches are in the enclosure, to protect them. - Those I illustrated have been fitted to the loco after it was purchased.

Thanks, I have stuck 2 magnets on to the track & it works, 1 magnet on the left side of the track & 1 on the right side, when the loco runs over them it sound a whistle on 1 & a bell on the other.
