8) Yes, hot stuff, all right. Not only was it live steam to the fore, but the Wairarapa was the hottest place in the country according to this evening's weather bulletin.

OK, let's get some pictures in while JR is waiting for his loco to cool down.

An overall view of our host's (Warren S) railway.

My log train came along for a sit. A sit, you ask? Well, that's what a track power train does when their ain't no track power.

Drool. John S has got the latest from Aussie... a live steam NA (Puffing Billy, to the unwashed).

...and finally,

Wairarapa head honcho, Lloyd D 'relaxing' as his IoM consist rolls by.

A great day had by all.

Sorry been a bit busy over the week so it's taken a while before I could share my enjoyment of the day.
A park like setting as you approach the railway

Looks lovely doesn't it?

Gavin was in amongst things

Gavin's Climax didn't get to run as Warren's railway is set up for battery power or live steam only.
IMG_2874.JPG

But there was no shortage of trains to run

Battery power on one loop, live steam on the other ;)

John S's almost new Argyle/Accucraft NA :D

It's a thing of beauty ;D and runs well too.

With the NA's run completed it was time for me to get Manawanui ready.

Can you guess from the fencing we are in the country ;)

I don't normally get to take too many photos of my own loco's in steam at a running day.
IMG_2885.JPG

But I got cunning and gave Gavin the transmitter, so he got his first taste of driving live steam, and I got to take photos.

Good fun all round ;D I had a great afternoon, well worth the trip. Thanks Warren ;D

Now some photos taken by Rodney Bracefield who has asked to share as I see fit so naturally it would be rude not to post on his behalf  :D
So to make sure I don`t take any credit for the fine photos I simply title then as Rodney 1, 2 etc.  :)
