Long story short.
Massoth XLS Chip blew on my older Crok (20400), so new one with the 8230040 sound profile installed. Buiilt it up to a rolling chassis with new motors, (which were tested prior to installing) head/tail lights and sound all was fine. Re installed cab lights into the XLS, auto couplers/op pantographs which are on function chips.
Re aligned the sounds to line up with other fleet locos. Moved the F buttons settings of the brake sound from 15 to 2, shunting speed from 8 to 15. and sound off from 6 to 8 and a couple of others.
Now it runs and functions fine, but occasionaly for no reason the sound starts a loud high pitched sound, that can only be stopped by either lifting the loco off the track or switching the power off. Emergency stop and re set does not resolve it.
Dodgy chip, or something I have done.
I do have the Massoth Service Tool, but my past experience of using it are dire to say the least.
Suggestions welcome
