Help identifying Talyllyn coaches

Hey everyone,

I was recently browsing eBay and stumbled upon these talyllyn coaches number 1 through to 5 from rails of Sheffield. Detail was scarce but the price seemed good and the Talyllyn is a place I visit regularly, so it made sense to pick them up.

They arrived today, covered in a thick layer of dust, but cleaned up really well. Not perfect but they will get there.

Now I have no idea where the originate. I’m not sure whether they are a kit build or a scratch build. They are made of really good quality wood throughout, and generally seem very good quality. The only issue is coach 3 is missing a footboard, easily replaced though.

Can anyone tell me where they originated from? Definitely 16mm scale.

Thank you! Hands down the best pieces of rolling stock I have (not that it’s a huge collection). I’m very pleased with them and it’s clear whoever built them really put in a huge amount of effort.

Second what Paul says. Perfect World kits. I had on of their VoR open coach kits. Might even been made by the couple who's company it was. Here is what goes into one of their kits. Might help nail it down if your's display the same construction methods.
May 2017 - Talyllyn coach 4 - Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers
P.S. If they were built by the makers then quite pricey when bought. Max

They look like Perfect World products. Top of the range kits. Congratulations on getting such a wonderful train of them

Thank you. Looking at the link from maxi-model it seems the metal castings are exactly the same, and the assembly of the wood structure is also identical. In that case I believe it's mystery solved!

It seems the company no longer exists, which is a real shame. But would explain why nothing seemed to match from the current selection of available kits.

Just waiting for the nice weather to return and then they can have a trial run! But for now they are making a nice centerpiece for the dining room.

One of the Brambleton chaps has some, they are indeed beautiful coaches. By all accounts theyre not beginners' models though.
