Help identify LGB card

I have recently picked a bundle of bits and among them was an LGB card. I have flick through hundreds of web pages without luck and hoping someone here can help. I assume the blue socket which is 2x3 pin should, in part, connect to a chuff sensor but that is just a guess. Card Id number is 8.837010.10 and there is also a very faint marking on the pcb 3271. Date on the board is 4/6/97. Thanks in advance if you know what loco this came from.

No idea what it was from, but the 4 pins and the 2x3 connectors are probable to add a MTS decoder (and changing the dipswitches).

I would connect it to analogue track power and see what happens when you ramp the voltage up slowly.

It's from the powered sound tender (the black and red stand alone one) and it's doesn't have a chuff sensor, it works of voltage only! The blue socket along with the 4 pins and dip switches are to add the lgb mts chip to with the interface cable.

Thanks for your replies. I have powered the card and it has motor power the lights work directionally but no sound. The speaker is good. I guess based on your replies the card is cooked

Would either of you know by looking at the picture if the dip switch is set to DCC or DC? I think for other threads I have read they all go in one direction or the other.

It is set to DC, as the DIP switches are 'on'.

All 'on' for DC.
All 'off' for DCC.

However, I know it is an old board, but is there enough electronics for the sound card to be on that board?

Where are you putting power in?

I am powering the board via the track pickup wires. The 2 centre wires of the 4 black wires coming from the board. The board has the two pin socket that the speaker was plugged into when I pulled it from the box of bits. I have assumed this is correct and therefore it should have sound. It is possible that the previous owner may have plugged this in in error and the board doesn’t have sound. I don’t think it is from a powered tender as it has 2 lights. 1 is one direction only and the other works in both directions. This would suggest a headlight and a cab light to me.

Hooked up a motor block but still no sound. Perhaps the socket is a tender connection not sound. The motor runs really nice.

Sorry I told you wrong its the two lights thing gives it away, I believe it's actually from the lgb 22604 SCHOEMA loco which has sound but only a horn. I imagine you have two bare wires that should have had a reed switch for a track magnet, try touching them together?

Yes, it is a 22604 well done and thank you. I’ll try those 2 wires later today when the sun comes up.

I’ve just dragged this board out to install it in a little scratch built diesel shunter. Unfortunately the negative lead from the backup battery has broken off. I never photographed the back side of the board. Can anyone help direct me to how I might identify the solder spot on the board for this lead?
