Helmsman Remote Controller and Extension Lead

I've seen some posts on the above but could do with some assistance please. I have a Helmsman controller but not the remote handset or extension lead which is a bit of a problem now that manufacture has ceased. Peco were going to continue the range but when I last enquired it wasn't on their radar. Is it possible to make up or adapt an existing handhold controller that can be used with a Helmsman? I've noted the comments concerning DIN leads and wire reversals therein. A wiring digram from the extension lead socket would be a good start.

I'm not sure how many of us use Helmsman - good controller, but I've never had to have the handset apart.

I had to repair a 'curly' cord on one, but it was one wire in the connector.

If I had one, I could produce a schematic for the lead, and hand controller.

I also have a Helmsman that I got second hand many years ago and I'm very pleased with it. I think most people are as I don't see them for sale often. A couple of months ago I contacted Peco as I was looking for a Analogue R/C setup and knew Helmsman used to make them. The chap in Peco was very nice but admitted they have the name but don't know what to do with it and have no immediate plans to produce anything.

Yep, wouldn't really want to loan mine out over the summer months - happy to do it in the Autumn if nothing else transpires.
