Hello from the Pacific Northwest

Welcome to the forum, lots of advice to be had on here. Just ignore Fred2179G's comment, there nothing that can beat British humour.

And it rains the rest of the year, I have family all over Washington state. It is 91% humidity today, right now in Seattle. So maybe hot (and humid) for 3 months, and 9 months of rain/drizzle/gray.

It's actually a bit like the UK, very green and beautiful, but the green is because of water.

Anyway, you could contact the clubs up there, there is the Puget Sound group.

Welcome from a once-a-year Oregonian! Depending on your actual location, the PSGRS sounds like a plan!
Only once a year?
I use Oregonian, and other herbs, quite often when it is my turn to cook..
o_O:p;)

In spite of all the grumbles, we are very fond of Seattle and often go there on the Cascades train from Portland...

Here's a sneak look inside what must be one of THE most beautiful station concourses in the West - King Street Station after the long-overdue refurbishment -

Love it. They were just starting to rip out the old 'modern' lower ceiling there when we did the Coast Starlight in 2010.
