Hello,
My name is Chris and I live in France. I'm very proud to be a new member of this forum.
I'm planning to build a figure 8 indoor layout in G scale and I need a little help from a new bunch of friends.
I still have a lot to learn and this forum seems to be the right place.
Regards,
Chris

Welcome aboard. If you want to incorporate a flyover in that 8 you will either need a large layout or some very steep gradients. A cross over would work well.
But, please, tell us more of your plans - and we like photos.

Welcome to the (slightly) mad house

Thanks. In fact I think I'm a little bit crazy too.

Welcome to the slightly drift off topic sometimes mad house.

Approximately where are you in France as I returned from a 10 year stay there recently? I did a garden layout and later an indoor one. A figure of 8 track plan is scary a friend in Normandy had one.

As Stocker said one with a flyover will require a lot of space but then in France that is sometimes not a problem.

Any way welcome there are lots of knowledgeable and patient contributors on here

Welcome Aboard. We all have fun here and I'm sure you will too.

Welcome from the UK. The big advantage of a figure of 8 layout if you have young children is that there is lots of movement to get and hold their interest as the trains snake around the track. The disadvantage of a pure figure of 8 layout is fitting in platforms as these are usually straight rather than curved. To solve this, you have to have a layout which looks a bit like a battered egg timer!

Thanks gentlemen for your warm welcome. I live somewhere in the middle of the Centre-Val de Loire.

Welcome to the forum Chris....
