We had a half open session on Sunday due to some inclement weather. First just enough rain to make the rails greasy but then a mini monsoon. One visitor (Don...not he from the Broome Lake &Eastern) had to find shelter where ever he could, although even that was soon not enough.

An incident occured on the line.....massive derailment..........but miraculous occurence............. hobo survives!

btw hw come it derailment? how? lucky abt the guy figures...

Hi Don
Rod did some great songs...

Steve, the derailment was caused by a piece of netting that I use under a bush to stop leaves falling on the line. It had 'bulged' out and got entangled with a corner of a piece of rolling stock. This happened a while before the derailment but the jerk from the netting was enough to derail a bogie which then eventually got caught on the switch/point where it caused the heavy derailment to happen. The netting has been fixed and there are no more derailments.....well not yet anyway........never tempt the hand of fate...:-

Tony said that I should have completed the weathering of the cars by finishing the underneath. When I was weathering them, I didi not expect them to go a**e over t*t and reveal their bottoms!

Oh yes, Mike, in his heyday - which for me was around the Gasoline Alley era. Excellent LP (or whatever you call it these days).

I wish I could have been there on Sunday - perhaps next time ?

Yeah, I can remember going to see The Faces live on many occasion. What a voice and what a band!

I hope to get another session in before end of October Don. But there is always the chance of an impromtu run....... So hope to see you down this way....what days of the week is Dud available?

We are definitely going to have a pre Christmas/Christmas open run where it will be beverages and evening/night running that is the order of the day. I have to complete the buildings lighting and augment some of the general 'ambience' layout lights in time for it but a goodly time could be the order of the day or...evening!

Excellent news - and re the Faces, me too ! Always a fun outing

Dud's usually off on a Friday and Saturday :)

Looks like good fun was had by all  Is that the hand of God i see there
