I rather liked this, had not noticed just what a climb there was climbing out of Sorge in the past. Wish I had made it a call off point for Vids when I have been there with a car. Also shows just what FiFi can do. We went up the Broken with her in 2011 hauling 2 Coaches and a Bogie Van. I thought that this was pretty ambitious but she managed in fine spirit. But here she is hauling 4 Coaches. Super little engine.

Last time we went out to the Harz we rented a house in Sorge, whilst not the busiest part of the network the climb makes it worth spending a while there. There is a hostelry about half way up with a terrace along side the railway which makes a nice place to wait with a cold refreshing lass of some thing :)

The service this Winter looks slightly better than I am used to, last time I was there only 1 Steam Train through Sorge each way. This Winter it appears that there are two and 2 Railcars each way. Thats a lot of Beers between Trains!

Back in May this year Pfiffi pulled four coaches to the Broken. She did stall and need a brew up about half a mile from the top. Slight delay to the general timetable but not much.

A joint departure from Eisfelder Talmuhle. The 2-10-2 heading for Wernegerode and the rail car for Quedlinburg.
