This is a really nice vid of two different power locos a K27 and K37 working together on the last run in 2002 before they both had to go in for a boiler refit. They are still undergoing the refits.
It is a vid by a member on the Large Scale Central forum.
Unfortunately it is a lower resolution but still very atmospheric and nice to hear the two mismatched locos working hard together.

The last part of the vid shows a loco on its own taking a long freight back down to Chama. It can barely brake the descent as the incline is steep.

awsome michael,,,,,
Yes Dave, they work really hard climbing from Chama to Cumbres at up tto 4% gradient so lovely plumes all the way. The sound and plumes would have been a daily occurence with the freight trains and passengers too up to the 50s . That was why there were plenty of water towers on the line. It is interesting to see a distinct lack of plume on the loco coming down as it is practically freewheeling! ....with the brake on of course.

Yes I know what you mean. I know that the vid is of locos struggling up an incline but my layout gradient (more than 10% in one spot) is so steep that it means that I need four or five locos to pull that many cars! If they were AMS cars well make that six fn3 locos!!
I need 4 Big haulers with motorised helper cars to pull 14 1:22.5 cars!

Really nice Mike, thanks for posting :clap:

Nothing like a bit of special K (-27/-37) for breakfast. Lots more train consist possibilities now. So I can mix Moffat and flying logos in one train, deep joy. Thanks for posting Mike.

Max.
