Good Friday - My first sort of open day

tramcar trev

all manner of mechanical apparatus...
And as it was totally spontaneous no one got an invite...
So I was having lunch with a mate (crusted Tasmanian salmon fillets that he cooked himself) and he suggested that he should come home with me to see the tramway and the kitchen revamp so it turned into a good opportunity for a photo shoot from the enthusiasts perspective.... I did learn a lesson here; having one control box for all the trams makes it difficult if 2 motormen want a go at the same time, live and learn I guess. Anyway some shots from today... I was trying to blur the background and get the "box brownie" effect...

Absolutely excellent Trev - this shows all your hard work to good effect.

You might consider having a cheapo 4ch Tx lying around, so you could bind the steam tram (say) for visitors to drive, and bind it back to the main box when they've gone. Its a lot more fun when two people are driving trams at the same time.

Fantastic steam tram :o

Wonderful clear pictures of your backyard empire, pleasing to view, do like the nice touches with your figures.

Looking forward to seeing the next steps. ;D

In my mind I can feel the ground rumble, as it does when a tram goes by. ;)

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D the Earth did move for my sole guest when he trod on a lone Barkers Egg that had been laid while we were at lunch....
Great Ideas too thanks for that, maybe a bulk buy of elcheapo 3 channel Hobby King R/C sets that can be "bound as required". I'd do a similar thing and mount them in jiffy boxes...
Interesting observation about the detail in the overhead, its true that I have put in considerable effort in that regard its the thing that sticks in my mind from my childhood looking up and it was a veritable spiders web remembering too that the Post Master General shared the poles with a pair of wires on them (on a cross tree) for every phone on the exchange. Of course modern tramway overhead has no character by comparison. Photographing the overhead from underneath is the WTG too, the sky as background makes it visible...
The irony here is that 2 blokes who are going to the Hobsons Bay exhibition (where I can't exhibit even if I was capable because my conductors, except on the steam tram trailer, are on the RIGHT HAND side and therefore not Australian) want to swing by on Monday to see the LVS&ET on their way home....

Nice Trev, very nice. A pleasure to see the fruits of your labours to date! ;D ;D

Great pics, and great looking models :)
