I wonder if a garden railway has ever been seen at the Chelsea show? I'm always impressed by the pop-up layout at 16mm shows.

In Australia some years back a local garden lovers TV show featured railways in the home garden a couple of times. On a sad note one included that off the husband of a TV presenter who for a news fashion shoot stepped back to lean against a hedge thinking it hid a fence ( a common practice in Australia) which it did not, fell, broke his neck and subsequently died. His railway had taken over the garden and then the whole house! Only minor objections at the time from his now widowed wife.

They did use to have Garden Railways at the Hampton Court Harden gig funded I believe Network Southeast - remember them? Certainly before 1994. Closest I have known at Chelsea was a sort of Railway Station with water passing over the platform to a pond at the bottom of a sloping garden. Never saw it in person but it looked superb, just right for a train nut. Net or AI was unable to find this. This was probably a decade or more ago.

As recent as 2023 they had a ‘platform garden’ but not much like a Station.
