Had a day on this today. Obviously a lot to do still, but beginning to see its outline. It will be a 2 6 2 2 6 2. Boiler is a bachmann tank, otherwise plasticard.

It is long, but being designed to articulate to run r1 on foreign metals. Quite a challenge!

My layout is actually r5 but I wanted it to run anywhere and add a design challenge. It runs on play mobile curves so hopeful.

So more work done.... still all just rested together so plenty of joints that are too big. hoping paint and detail will pull it all together!

Have decided to completely rebuild the front tank as unhappy with it... wish me luck. once i have outline finalised i am going to tack it together and get it in primer so i can see where I am with it
