Sadly but surely the time has come to sell off the Tramway. The whole lot of it. This includes the layout with the power supplies, the unfinished projects e.g. the Scrubber Car. The trams themselves including the steam tram and trailer and the 6 remaining electric cars though I may retain car No1 just for sentimental reasons, the radio control gear, spare batteries, chargers, traction poles, the special tools I have devised to install and work on the overhead, numerous spares, bits and pieces; even the trees will go though I may retain the "lone pine" for posterity.

To see what you would be getting have a look at the blog, go back to the beginning what you see is more or less what you get….

The reason for the sale is this; I simply cant go on, I cant get down underneath the layout to do additional cabling that has to be done and I'm really loosing my marbles. I cant put anything down, I cant stop a project and then return to it and it now takes me so long to do a simple job - a 1 hour task takes a day assuming that I don’t stop halfway through for if I do then I just cant seem to pick up on it again…. Not sure if its my PTSD or the Insulin or I could blame it on Agent Orange. I'll put the proceeds toward my bucket list…

If you are interested email me at lvet@outlook.com I have no idea of a price I think that’s going to be best negotiated between myself and the aspiring new owner….

Sorry to hear you're giving up Trev - I miss your postings on here. If I lived a few thousand miles nearer to you I'd be interested. Best wishes for the future!

Trev, I also followed your superb line and projects with great interest. Here is hoping you can find someone that will treasure and enjoy all your hard work. All the best for the future,
JonD

It's a great shame that you're having to give the tramway up, Trev, and I hope it goes to a new home. With the videos you have of it, you can still relive old times.

All the best.

Sorry to hear that Trev?

Best wishes....

Sorry to hear about your condition Trev it sounds dreadful.
As someone else said maybe by watching videos of your efforts you can remember better times.
Perhaps your bucket list could include real scale trams of the world.
Best wishes from the antipodes.

I can only echo the sentiments of the others and wish you all the best. I can't begin to imagine the anguish that making that decision must have caused you.

Yep, I certainly learned a lot about trams from your postings, Trev - best wishes for the future.

Sorry you're having to give up the tramway Trev. You've given us all much pleasure. Hopefully your enthusiasm, skills and knowledge can be passed on to others and you can move in a new direction.

I am heartbroken to hear that you want to give up, I have greatly enjoyed your posts and the inspiration that you have provided. Can I reccomend that you do nothing in haste, cut down a bit, reduce the line, thin the fleet....but don't give it all up. You may regret it if you start to feel better and we would all feel better to think that you were still pottering on.

If you do decide to give up active modelling please keep posting, we will miss you.

Yes, my bucket list has moved into top notch... I could have had a job with Hong Kong Tramways as a mechanical electrical Bossee but my Cantonese let me down, Apparently "Motorman, I am Tramcar Trev can I drive your tram please?" ;
Qìchē sījī, wǒ shì wǒ diànchē cuī fú kěyǐ dàidòng nǐ de diànchē ma? is not enough...

I just wish I knew what the problem is. I can live with the knew knee, its better that the agony I was in before getting it done and it works quite well as I tried it in Vietnam and China last year. Its my brain slipping into neutral or even reverse thats the worry. I've had all the tests known to medical science, some not so much fun, Ive not had a stroke nor do I have any growths and Ive discussed the nasty D word but the medicos are saying that if I had the nasty D that I would not remember what I had in my hand anyway....
Like I can still drive to the shops with intent and purpose but a) I'll go to the wrong shops or b) dont know why Im there or even read the list I have written....

Im thinking I may try and ,make up a short length of track with a loop in the middle and trolley reversers at either end that I can take into an "Aged Care Facility" with me :D:D:D and annoy the other inmates...

I've not been following this in detail, but has age activated/related attention deficit disorder been considered by the doc?

Wishing you all the best, Trev - like many others I've really missed your posts on here......

Jon.

I have really missed your spoutings and wonderful modelling since you had left the forum Trev, and am devastated that you are thinking of upping sticks with your layout.
Perhaps something will reverse the condition that you are experiencing and then you could enjoy the tasks involved.
As others have said, don't release it all but hold on to a 'skeleton' set up so that you can still delve into the hobby when you feel like it.

Trev, Am sorry you have decided to give up your hobby. I think I'v read all your blog pages, and copied nearly all of them at the Beechworth library. Your talent at electronics, casting and etching, and creating a truly "charismatic" layout with a real Sydney atmosphere, outdoors and along your fence line was truly amazing, and very encouraging for me. Next time I'm at Office Works I'll be buying a good, strong binder to put all those pages in, not just for posterity, but as a reference and "how-to" book for myself. Make sure you keep a tram model or two, to remind yourself of the hours and hours of sheer fun you have had!!
