Garden Railway in 00

.....Mmmmmm On30? ....

Makes you think tho'!:D
I like the part in Peter Jones' book where he mentions his O16.5 garden railway and say he would like to develop it but couldn't the time with all the other things he was doing!

I think that On30 or O16.5 could work very well in the garden and possibly be better for a smaller garden if the builder wanted large locos and longer stock.
Pity that Fleischmann stopped making their 'Magic Train' range (although plenty is available 2nd hand) as that really had potential.

I tried HO track, modelling 2' gauge sugar cane lines, before I came to G. Looked much too small in the garden and impossible to keep trains on track with any leaves/twigs etc. Only laid a few metres of track before I saw the G light.

I've sometimes wondered if I could do HO on a raised baseboard (like I have for my G) with a fold down lid to keep the muck off. Might be a possibility for those with no room inside.
