Hello everyone,

I’m Oliver, a new member.
Here are some photos of my high level garden/carport layout.
I started building this layout in October 2021 slowly expanding it to include a WYE junction which is useful 40C14F10-2B55-4DA7-9FA1-B1B5FD3FF4A1.jpeg3DDBF409-0739-407D-92E7-58007C05F31E.jpeg7C66897F-F257-4B00-88F5-0D61F9104DF1.jpeg9FFB7083-3174-4D41-ABDA-BEE9CFEDB08E.jpegfor turning trains around.
I’ve also included small rolling stock sidings.

Welcome to the forum Oliver, we are spoilt for high lines this weekend. Like a nice high line.

Welcome on board. Another PIKO fan I see! Looking at your first picture I hope you didn’t leave your rolling stock out in that weather!

Thanks , having a layout at ground level certainly has its advantages but l liked the idea of having it at eye level and partially undercover which suited my small garden well.
I have videos of trains running on the G scale Fb page.

Oliver.

Hello, yes l like the PIKO rolling stock and keep most undercover but the shell tanker wagons l purposely leave out for the weathered look.
I also have some old single buffer LGB stock which l leave out in all weathers.

Welcome Oliver, looks like a good start, you'll get good advice on here, just beware of the humour.

Yes, the humour on this Forum is not to be laughed at.

Welcome to the forum Oliver....

Welcome to the madness

Oliver, welcome, though I see you have been with us over a year now, so I will assume you know the "score" ;)

Welcome aboard Oliver. Any relation to Twist.....:giggle:.....?

Welcome Oliver!

I am trying to get my head around how 'high' your high-level layout is?

Would you have a photo from further back, to put it in context?

I don't have a car port, but am looking for more ideas on where/what to build..

Thanks,
PhilP.

Hello Philip, I have only just read your message and sorry for the late reply.
Here are some photos showing the hight of the layout a little more clearly.
Hope this helps.
I like having the layout at eye level and using the carport for added protection against the elements.

Oliver.

Very nice... I liked the strawberry express train as my favorite. How many feet is your layout? Welcome to our online club.

Hello, thanks.

It varies in height from about 5 feet to 7 feet and those were some of our home grown strawberries being transported last summer.
