Yesterday I had a very long day out to the Bo'ness and Kiniel Railway near Edinburgh. My day started with the alarm at 0430 and I never got back home till 0100 this morning after my return train was delayed by 40 minutes after a drunk was ejected from the train at Nuneaton. Oh to ad to the Virginal joy we were diverted via Northampton due to cattle on the line. Still it was a great day and the D49 4-4-0 249 Morayshire (formerly 62712) was an absolute joy. But this post is not about that but the wonderful pub just by the exit of Linlithgow Station. Called the Platform 3 it has an LGB Railway G Scale High Line on an Auto timer. It appears to be set to run every 5 or so minutes. The train consists of the Sound 2-4-0 USA loco and 3 cheepie toy Train Tank Cars with made up advertising for local beers. Well worth a visit if you are in the Edinburgh area and the pub features in the local Camra Guide. Great Beer too!
