my weathering is not that good but Colin and I hopefully in the future will be having a few lessons with spray guns, I can only dry brush and dribble a bit ( please not rude comments I am still taking the tablets ) .

I think you weathering looks pretty good on the tank - just right! Nice modelling all round!

I've found dribbling is the only authentic way to weather tankers, sure a blow over with rust & dust but spillage can only look real when dribbled. Speaking of which those photos look good enough to drool over, the oil drums look just the same as the Pola kit ones.
I use the tubs from my blood sugar tester as loads in open wagons as they look like commercial chemical drums.
Now if only I could think of a use for 50 litre beer barrels :rolf: (empty ones before Steve says something)

Nice work sir....

Thank you all for you kind comments .I have got some more bits and pieces that I will post later but I fascinated with the use of a tester kit for insulin ,can you show us some pics? as for the beer barrel if you have any spare I have got some ideas .

Well, on their own the 'tubs' don't look up to much

however they look just like the plastic containers that various fluids were delivered in when I worked in the printing industry, and they fill up a wagon nicely

Sorry about the smiley wagon, I really ought to repaint it but it makes me grin

Re:teddy bear train

Teds on tour, fine by me
A couple of questions: how did you make the ends of the fuel tank and what make are the ted's wagons?

Re:teddy bear train

the wagons are just open wagons with some bits of 80 and 60 plastic card the teddy bears are key ring from my local post office with the rings cut off .the up rights for the roof and hand rails is mig wire . the seats were from a toy train coach
the ends of fuel tank is 40 ,60 and 80 plastic card , and the base is made from 80 plastic card stippled in different colours
I think the wagons chassis were aristo

Re:teddy bear train

Hi,
If you have a 35mm film developer near you, ask them of the have any old film tubs - they should have lots of them. The tubs are 30mm diameter and 50 mm long; the sides do slope slightly but not much.

They are getting a bit thin on the ground now - I was given some a while ago now; the larger supermarkets may be a good place; our local Asda had one certainly.

Yours Peter.

Graham,
Your Barrel's & Fuel Tank are first rate!
The weathering looks very good, quite believeable.

grounded wagon

thanks for your comments it spurred me on to get around to finishing a couple of little projects .I do like cameos ,might have over done it a bit but I got carried away with the dry brushing .They are all bits and pieces from previous projects apart from the bike which came from back to bay six . everything else is scratch built including the foliage which is sponge, bristles and a bit of timber for the box and of course a tube for the barrel and tea bags for undergrowth with a bit of paint mixed in to give it permanent colour instead of dye

CASCAMITE is the stuff. Waterproof as well.
Cascamite - as far as I'm aware - Is the ONLY woodglue underwritten by Lloyds of London (insurers) for the use of in building wooden boats / ships :D

You know old one sugar doesn't say much on here lately, but what he does say is always useful.

Loving the oil drums BTW Graham.
