Now having some time to get back into modelling I'm resurecting the feuerlöschzug or Fire train project I had started, I have 3 tank wagons, and a tool van, ready to go behind a detailed Stainz, What would be a typical setup, colour, As my railway portrays a "contrived" preserved line, everything runs ex works, so the Fire train would be detailed ex works rather than battle worn

LGB have done a water tanker and a fire tool van recently - you may have missed them. both modelled on the Harz originals.

I sprayed a tanker with Plasti-Kote Insignia Red. Almost a perfect match with the LGB fire train.

I'm at a loss here, I thought that steam locos did a very good job of setting fire to the countryside, so why does any railway need to have a special train to do the job? :wondering::wondering::wondering::giggle::giggle:

I did a bit of a google, as my schoolboy german wasn't quite up to the job, and feuerloschzug translates as fire engine - so we're talking a fire engine train which, in railway terms is a misnomer, but in explanation terms works a bit better.

It is a tool and equipment van for the fire train.
