Over the years the "Feldbahn" stock on the CFR has been steadily building up. All the hook and loop couplings have been replaced with Binnie centre buffers and chain. The side dump hoppers have all received paint jobs and weathering to depict various degrees of decrepitude.

Ninety percent of what I run are field railway cars. I just love 'em. How do the chain couplings you mentioned work for you, as far as running and switching operations ?

Dan, no problems at all. Shunting(switching) operations are easy and reliable.

I looked closer at your photos. I see that you have buffers on the wagon ends. Obviously they are not fouling on curves during switching operations.

lovely paint work-on all!

nice contrasting pain on the inside portion too. adds interest.

i too have a soft spot for the FRR stock and locos
imho, none look decrepit at all, some in use , some almost new

So what did you use to make such fine crisp lines ?

What did you use for the Kilroy figure ?

Three new wagons for the CFR? They came with metal wheels and had individual lettering. They were added to the other wagons to make a rake of fifteen. Albert hauled them along quite nicely.image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg
