Exeter Show 26th October 2019

I plan on attending, the floor plan should be very useful, many thanks.

Visited Exeter show yesterday, though it rained all the way down the M5, speaking with people travelling west on the A303, they didn't see rain till Yeovil. Show was very good, lots of layouts and steam, and will definitely be visiting again, quite a few bargains as well. Pick up some concrete/stone building from Sandringham Crafts, also bought a couple of coaches off the bring and buy, marked as Bachmann, but I wasn't convinced:

Eventually found the Aristo Craft marking today, both with sprung bogies and sprung opening doors, switch place holder for lights and smoke, though neither fitted, also no interior. They are missing the springs from the hook and loop couplings, I could fit LGB, but if I could located 4 springs, that would be better.

You can usually find materials suppliers at these sort of shows that sell 12" lengths of compression springs, around 3 mm dia' for the Aristo couplers, that you can snip to length. Also pump action hand wash bottles and cleaning product "squirty" guns are good source of the right dia' springs. That's what I resorted too when I had Aristo' stock and no factory spares. If my memory serves me well the same springs work in Aristo trucks and Bachmann locos for their suspension, where fitted. Then again some kind soul on here might have a few spares. Max

It never ceases to amaze me that people trying to sell things can't be bothered to find out what they really have on their hands.

Yes Aristo, I think 1:29 standard gauge but will easily mix with 1:22.5 narrow gauge, and will look pretty cool behind a Mining Mogul ;);)

The most likely reason for missing springs from the hook and loop being that they are an after market fix - the 'Sierra' coaches would have come with Arito's unique buckeye which interlocked vertically to prevent the auto-uncoupling on undulating track that bedevils Bachmann's offering

The two Aristo Sierra coaches are from a set - you can always tell because the curtains are closed! I have many in different liveries because I think they are a nice product. Here's a Santa Fe pair i dragged behind a serviced loco yesterday .....

Ah chatted some on another thread about the Springs. Actually better to put LGB Couplings on as they are a straight swop out. You may find that the Aristo ones are a bit tricky to uncouple and do keep loosing those drafted Springs.
