EVERYTHING NOW SOLD! PIKO Locos (BR24, BR64, V36) and COACHES.....

Buy now for 0 USD
You don't have the permission to purchase
Hello all,

I've recently been forced to concede that I have too much train stuff - not by the Memsahib, but by running out of room in the storage shed..... so, as there are a couple of things I'd quite like to buy soon, something really has to go.
After long and careful thought, I've decided that it is time to concentrate on the narrow-gauge stuff only - thus I have several items of PIKO "standard-gauge" German stock up for grabs! These are all still 45mm gauge of course, not 64mm - and as most of you will know they are made to sort-of 1/26 scale or thereabouts, so that they still look perfectly acceptable alongside most LGB and similar stock.

I have the following items up for sale:
BR64 2-6-2 Tank Loco WITH MASSOTH XLS DCC AND SOUND - NOW SOLD!
BR24 "Steppenpferd" 2-6-0 Tender Loco WITH MASSOTH XLS DCC AND SOUND - SOLD!
SOLD -
V36 0-6-0 Diesel WITH MASSOTH XLS DCC AND SOUND - SOLD!
Rake of FOUR "Thunderbox" 6-wheel coaches - two regular coaches, one with "Jagermeister" adverts and one Baggage Combine. SOLD!

First up, the BR64 tank loco..... boxed, virtually as-new, with unfitted accessory parts still bagged (including optional NG style single-buffer beams). The driver figure of Herr Doktor Wilfer from Piko has been removed from his perch in the cab, but I'm sure he's in a box of figures somewhere if you REALLY, REALLY want him.....
A little bit of very minor box wear from storage, but loco is pristine - I bought it new and it's had probably an hour's running at most. Coupler hooks fitted at both ends. MASSOTH XLS sound decoder dealer-fitted from new, sounds lovely!

EDIT 29/8/20: BR64 now SOLD pending completion of the usual formalities!
EDIT 2/9/20: BR24 and coaches spoken for, ALL items now sold!

ASKING PRICE £500, plus shipping to be arranged at cost - can be delivered at Llanfair show next weekend if that helps?
That is less than the current retail for the ANALOGUE version of this model (RRP £665, cheapest listed UK price £530), so you're getting the DCC and Sound (worth at least £180) thrown in.

NOW SOLD (2/9/20)!

Next one up....

BR24 Steppenpferd 2-6-0 tender loco.....

As with the BR64 above, this is pretty much as-new, having had less than an hour's running since purchase. This one also has a MASSOTH XLS sound decoder, in this case I installed it myself after purchasing the new loco. Once again, all bagged accessory parts present (never fitted) including the single-buffer beams if you want to run it with NG type stock. Coupler hooks at both ends.
A real beauty, with the same powerful mechanism (with Buhler motor) as the BR64.

ASKING PRICE £550 plus shipping if necessary - again, can deliver at Llanfair show. Current model RRP £720 in ANALOGUE form, cheapest UK list price I could find was £576, so again you're effectively getting the XLS free.

NOW SOLD!

Third loco (and last for the time being), the Piko V36 0-6-0 Diesel.....

Again, lovely condition with unfitted detail parts still in bags - including alternative single-buffer beams. Sorry the photos don't really do this one justice, there is quite a lot of surface detail that you can't see due to the all-black livery!

Bought from Germany with MASSOTH XLS sound decoder already fitted, sounds great - powerful loco with Buhler motor and articulated chassis to handle anything down to R1 curves. Couple hooks fitted at both ends.
Looks really good with a rake of LGB goods wagons, the slight scale difference really isn't noticeable.

ASKING PRICE £350 plus shipping if necessary - again, can deliver at Llanfair show. Current model RRP £370 in ANALOGUE form, around £300 at best deal, so I'm not QUITE giving the XLS away this time, but you're still saving at least £130 over the best UK price you will find.....

NOW SOLD (2/9/20)!

Finally (for the moment at least), I have a rake of FOUR Piko Rekowagen "steel-bodied" rebuilt coaches, six-wheelers - all with Piko METAL WHEELS fitted.
All items boxed, some slight box wear on a couple but coaches are in excellent condition.

There are TWO regular coaches, a third with Jagermeister advertising to give a splash of colour, and a Baggage Combine - all together they make a really lovely rake behind either the BR64 or BR24.

These coaches have an ingenious mechanism that allows the centre axle to slide sideways on a carrier, guided by the movement of the end axles, which allows the 6-wheel chassis to negotiate even R1 curves. I've run these on several different friends' layouts at open days, and they have performed very well with no derailments or other problems. All have coupler hooks fitted at BOTH ends, and all have the optional single-buffer NG-style beams enclosed in the boxes.

I would really prefer to sell the whole rake of four as a set, though I would consider splitting if I have to.
ASKING PRICE FOR ALL FOUR TOGETHER is £320, plus shipping if necessary - they are not currently available new in this green livery, but prices for equivalent ones seems to be around £100-£120 each WITHOUT the metal wheels. As with the locos above, I can deliver at Llanfair show if that helps.
SPECIAL - if anyone wants the four coach rake WITH either the BR64 or BR24 loco, I will knock £50 off the cost of the whole package.... :)

Update: interest has been expressed in the V36, so that one MAY be sold pending confirmation.....

Jon.

A quick BUMP for this thread.... sensible offers considered for the remaining items...... if there are no takers in the next few days, I may well take them along to the Bring and Buy at Llanfair next weekend.

Jon.

got any standard gauge 4 wheel wagons Jon? After something to convert for my rollwagens.

Afraid not, Alan - cheapest thing I can suggest for that is a Newqida box van with the balcony cut off, fitted with new frames and 64mm wheelsets - that's basically what the "standard gauge" van on my Modellbau Uwe rollwagen is, and it looks very effective.....

Jon.

Thanks Jon but I still cant lower myself to that, even after all these years. ECR have a Piko open for 50 quid - will probably go that route.

I concur. That's what Zenner offer as a standard gauge van to go on top of their (relatively) cheap rollwagen and it is very effective aesthetically and cost wise.
See this thread.

Update on items for sale.... just getting stuff ready to take to Llanfair, and I've decided to ONLY take the BR64 along for the Bring and Buy - if anyone on here is still interested in the BR24 and/or the coaches, they'll stay up on here for a while, but if they don't sell then I'm going to hang onto them for the moment.....

I will be leaving for Welshpool tomorrow (Thursday) morning, so if anyone here has been thinking about any of the items then please contact me tonight - I won't have access to the forums for the next four days.

I will be asking £495 for the BR64 at the show, and bearing in mind the % that goes to the B&B organisers if I sell it there, I'd accept £450 on here until first thing tomorrow morning.

Jon.

Further update: the BR64 didn't sell at the show, in fact from what I could see on the Saturday many of the larger items (locos and sets) didn't move - I think people were mainly looking for very cheap smaller things.....

I've just amended the top post of this thread, on the BR64, to a reduced price of just £425 plus postage - at that price it really is an absolute steal - but if there are still no takers then it's going back into the loco stable!

Jon.

That's what I found at Bressingham. Luckily I took loads of little things with me. Not a bad price on the locos. Regrettably (for you, that is) I bought one of each recently.
Mike.

Almost TWO YEARS after starting it, this nearly-extinct thread comes back to life...

The BR64 is now SOLD, pending completion of the usual formalities! :)

Still have the BR24 and the four Thunderbox coaches, open to sensible offers?

Jon.

Latest update 2/9/20: BR24 and coaches now taken, ALL items in this thread are now sold, two years after I first posted them! :)
