Hi all,
Some pictures of a scratch-built loco - Ettie. Powered by two motor blocks.

Could be noted as a 4 - 2 - 4.
DSCN0014.JPG
It has a roof made of soda/soft drink-can tin.
Was made to pull a couple of unusual carriages ie:

The Guarden Diner.DSCN0007.JPG
A pass. carriage (one of my less successful constructions - now disposed of..
DSCN0010.JPG
An finally, Mr Smee. Which was later changed to include a dining table and a croc..... waiting, waiting...

Superbly whimsical!

Rowan your modelling really is off the wall, great stuff love it. Pity you wont be able to try it on the Dunny Reichesbahn when you visit.

Perhaps this car would be suitable for Dunny Rhb?

This is a two-wheeler, and could be easily converted to a two-holer for broad-gauge !!

Superb! Reminds me of the British cartoonist who came up with ideas like this. Was it Emmet? I remember there was a life size model of one of his creations in the Merrion Centre in Leeds.

Superb creations, and very imaginative. Can I ask what inspires your creations?

I think Heath-Robinson was the cartoonist who gave his name the oddly plausible contraptions and contrivances of that type?

Yes, that's the name.

Rowland Emett, and yes, this lovely bit of loco modelling is very much in his style - The Far Tottering and Oyster Creek Railway and other wonderful creations.....

Jon.

Yes, I'm not sure that the loco driver is quite what Mr Emmet had in mind ;);););)

I did think that Ettie had a couple of good points... I think the loco thought so too. :)
Roland Emett was the inspiration for many of my models - and the input from those forum members of A.W.N.U.T.S Again (now unfortunately disbanded).
I'm sure that many members of this forum will have heard of Emett. I am a member of The Roland Emmet Society http://www.rowlandemett.com/ which issues a regular newsletter about things Emett. Membership is free. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the first Roland Emett exhibition in Birmingham a few years ago - there was also one recently. The society is often looking for help in setting up exhibitions or assistance with other aspects of their work - eg installing the restored Emett water clock in a shopping centre in Nottingham.
(I am trying to find pics of my Dr Suess loco to post - designed in a similar Emmeterish style)
Cheers Rowan
